Monteils

Monteils is a small village in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, in the Occitanie region, within the Quercy area, close to Caylus and Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val. This rural area, characterised by rolling countryside, limestone plateaux and valleys carved out by the Aveyron river and its tributaries, offers a peaceful setting well suited to countryside stays. The wider region is known for its medieval bastide towns, stone-built villages and Romanesque heritage, best discovered by exploring the surrounding country lanes. Nature lovers can enjoy walking trails through woodland and limestone plateaux, as well as the nearby Aveyron valley, ideal for gentle walks and summer swimming. The climate is semi-continental with Mediterranean influences, bringing hot, dry summers and mild winters. Regional cuisine celebrates classic South-West French produce, including foie gras, walnuts, goat's cheese and local wines, all commonly found at markets in neighbouring villages.
