Gasques

Gasques is a small rural village in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, located in the Bas-Quercy area, close to Montpezat-de-Quercy and the classified village of Lauzerte, a recognised stop on the Way of St James pilgrimage routes. The commune sits within the rolling countryside typical of the Quercy Blanc region, characterised by limestone hills, small woodlands and traditional crops such as melons and sunflowers. The scattered stone farmhouses and hamlets reflect the rural architecture of south-west France. The surrounding area is known for its gastronomy, with Agen prunes, foie gras and Fronton wines among its signature products. Montauban, the departmental capital, and Cahors, in the neighbouring Lot department, are both within an hour's drive, offering access to more significant heritage sites.
