Donzac

Donzac is a village in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, in the Bas-Quercy area near the Garonne valley in south-western France. The surrounding countryside is typical of the region, with rolling hills, orchards and a mix of arable farming and viticulture, including the lesser-known but well-regarded Côtes du Brulhois wines. The nearby Garonne lateral canal offers pleasant walking and cycling routes along its banks, as well as opportunities for river cruising. Donzac lies just a short drive from Moissac, renowned for its UNESCO-listed Saint-Pierre abbey and its chasselas grapes, and is not far from Agen, famous for its prunes. The area enjoys a mild south-western French climate, with warm, dry summers well suited to outdoor pursuits. The setting remains rural and peaceful, making it a good base for a quiet countryside stay, with easy access to neighbouring villages known for their architectural heritage and regional cuisine.
