Caussade

Caussade is a small town in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, in the Occitanie region of south-west France, historically known for its straw hat-making trade, which shaped much of its economic development during the 19th century. The town retains an old centre with covered market halls and a church, and hosts a traditional market that remains part of local life. Located between Montauban and Cahors, Caussade makes a convenient base for exploring the Quercy Blanc area and the Aveyron gorges, with notable nearby villages such as Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, Bruniquel and Puylaroque, some of which are listed among France's most beautiful villages. The surrounding countryside, with its limestone hills, vineyards and orchards, is well suited to walking and cycling. The mild, sunny climate for much of the year encourages outdoor pursuits. Caussade's railway station, on the Toulouse-Paris line, provides easy access to nearby major cities.
