Bardigues

Bardigues is a small rural village in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, in the Occitanie region of south-western France, set in the Garonne valley between the towns of Auvillar and Moissac. The surrounding landscape is shaped by vine-covered hillsides, as the village lies within the production area of the Côtes du Brulhois AOC, a wine appellation typical of this part of south-western France. The setting is peaceful and unspoilt, ideal for walks through vineyards and open countryside with wide views over the valley. The climate is mild and sunny for much of the year, with warm summers and relatively gentle winters typical of the south-west. Nearby, Auvillar is known for its medieval architecture and circular market hall, while Moissac is famous for its Saint-Pierre Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its chasselas grapes. The wider area also offers a chance to sample local produce, from wine to fruit and other south-western specialities. Bardigues therefore makes a quiet base from which to explore this rural, wine-growing corner of the Tarn-et-Garonne, away from the busier tourist routes.
