Roussennac

Roussennac is a small rural commune in the Aveyron department, in the Occitanie region, set within the rolling landscapes of the Rouergue area. The village retains a typically Aveyronnais character, with stone-built houses and well-preserved farmland surroundings. The commune lies close to some of Aveyron's well-known sites, including the medieval village of Conques, recognised as one of France's most beautiful villages, as well as the town of Rodez with its religious heritage. The area is well suited to outdoor pursuits, offering walking trails through the countryside and opportunities to explore the limestone plateaus and nearby river valleys, including that of the Lot. The climate, a blend of semi-continental and oceanic influences, makes for pleasant stays from spring through to autumn. Locally, the region is known for traditional specialities such as aligot, Roquefort cheese and farm produce linked to the area's long-standing livestock farming heritage.
