Mostuejouls

Mostuejouls is a small village in the Aveyron department, nestled in the heart of the Gorges du Tarn, close to Le Rozier and the confluence of the Tarn and Jonte rivers. Overlooked by its privately owned château, visible from the road, the village enjoys a striking natural setting surrounded by the limestone cliffs typical of the causses. The area is particularly popular for outdoor pursuits: walking along the trails of the Tarn and Jonte gorges, canoeing and kayaking on the river, rock climbing on the numerous bolted routes across the cliff faces, and exploring the Causse Noir and Causse Méjean plateaux, which offer sweeping panoramic views. Millau, around twenty minutes away, provides access to shops, markets and the Millau Viaduct, a landmark structure of the region. The climate is broadly Mediterranean, tempered by altitude, bringing hot, dry summers well suited to water-based activities, and cooler winters. Mostuejouls therefore makes a convenient base for exploring the dramatic landscapes of the Gorges du Tarn, combining unspoilt nature, understated architectural heritage and a wide range of sporting activities within a peaceful, authentic rural setting.
