Alrance

Alrance is a small village in the Aveyron department, set within the Lévézou massif in the Occitanie region of southern France. The commune is best known for its proximity to Lake Pareloup, one of the largest artificial lakes in France, which draws visitors each summer for swimming, sailing, windsurfing and fishing. The village itself retains a peaceful, rural character typical of the Aveyron plateau, with traditional stone buildings surrounded by rolling hills, woodland and pastureland. Thanks to its altitude, the Lévézou area enjoys mild summers and cooler winters, making it well suited to outdoor stays close to nature. The surrounding countryside offers plenty of opportunities for walking and mountain biking, with a network of paths linking neighbouring villages and the lake shore. Local gastronomy reflects Aveyron's culinary traditions, particularly its cheeses and cured meats.
