Flagnac

Flagnac is a village in the Aveyron department, in the Occitanie region, set in the Lot valley close to Decazeville and Capdenac. It lies within the former Decazeville-Aubin coalfield and preserves this industrial heritage through a site dedicated to mining history, featuring industrial remains and railway equipment that recall the area's past. The surrounding countryside is typical of the Rouergue, with rolling hills, woodland and riverside scenery well suited to walking and rambling. The wider area gives easy access to the picturesque villages of the Lot valley and to the nearby Grand Figeac tourist region. Local cuisine follows Aveyron traditions, with dishes such as aligot, fouace and regional cheeses.
