Livinhac le haut

Livinhac-le-Haut is a village in the north of the Aveyron department, in the Occitanie region, set along the River Lot, which forms a reservoir here suitable for water-based activities and fishing. The village is a recognised stopping point on the Way of St James (GR65, Via Podiensis), drawing a steady stream of walkers and pilgrims throughout the year. A council-run campsite beside the river allows visitors to enjoy the green surroundings of the valley. The commune lies close to Decazeville and Aubin, an area shaped by its industrial and mining heritage, still visible in the local architecture. The rural landscape, with its wooded hills and waterways, is well suited to walking and exploring the small, traditional villages typical of northern Aveyron.
