Salles-la-Source is a village in the Aveyron department, in the Occitanie region of southern France, just a few kilometres from Rodez. It is known for its waterfall, which cascades down the cliffside at the heart of the village and stands out as one of the area's notable natural features, fed by the underground waters typical of the surrounding limestone plateaux. The local heritage reflects a long-standing craft and industrial past linked to water-powered mills and tanneries, with a few architectural remains still visible today. The setting, shaped by the classic limestone landscapes of the Rouergue region, is well suited to walking and exploring the Aveyron countryside, with its plateaux, valleys and stone-built villages. The nearby town of Rodez provides easy access to shops, services and the railway station, while still offering the tranquillity of rural surroundings.
