Le fel

Le Fel is a small village in the Aveyron department, in southern France, located in its northern reaches near the Lot valley and close to the Cantal border. This rural commune sits within a typical Rouergue landscape of green hills, wooded valleys and farmland. Perched on elevated ground, the village offers open views over the surrounding countryside and the nearby Truyère gorges, an area valued for its unspoilt scenery and tranquillity. The region is well suited to walking, exploring traditional Aveyron heritage, and outdoor pursuits such as cycling or fishing, particularly around the rivers and reservoirs of the Truyère. Le Fel lies within a still largely unspoilt rural area, where traditional stone and slate-roofed buildings reflect local architectural styles. From here, visitors can easily reach better-known sites in the department, such as Entraygues-sur-Truyère or Conques, while enjoying a peaceful setting. The climate is oceanic, moderated by the surrounding relief, with mild summers and cool winters typical of the Massif Central region.
