Bucine

Bucine is a small town in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany, situated in the upper Valdarno, between Arezzo and Siena. The hilly, largely agricultural municipality includes several hamlets such as Ambra, Badia a Ruoti and Pietraviva, home to medieval remains including Ambra Castle. The area lies within the Chianti Colli Aretini wine region, well known for its wines and olive oil, both staples of the surrounding Tuscan countryside. The classic landscape of vine-covered hills, olive groves and woodland makes it well suited to walking and cycling. Its proximity to Arezzo, an art city noted for its Romanesque and Renaissance architecture, as well as to Siena, allows for easy cultural day trips. Bucine therefore offers a quiet base from which to explore the Valdarno, enjoy regional cuisine and experience an authentic rural setting, away from the busier tourist centres of Tuscany, while remaining within easy reach of the region's principal historic sites.
