Murazzano

Murazzano is a small village in Piedmont, located in the province of Cuneo, at the heart of the Langhe, a wine-growing region listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched on a hillside, it overlooks a landscape of vineyards and rolling hills typical of the area. The village is well known for its Murazzano DOP cheese, a soft sheep's milk cheese made using traditional methods, which remains one of the area's most notable specialities. The old centre retains a medieval castle along with narrow streets characteristic of rural Piedmontese architecture. The village lies close to other well-known Langhe settlements such as Dogliani and Bossolasco, as well as the town of Alba, historically a hub for truffle and wine trade. The surrounding countryside is suited to walking, cycling and visiting wine estates producing Dolcetto and Barolo. A continental climate, with warm summers and cool winters, shapes the agricultural calendar.
