Vinchio

Vinchio is a small village in the province of Asti, in Piedmont, nestled among the hills of Monferrato. This undulating landscape, covered in vineyards as far as the eye can see, forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage vineyard area known as Langhe-Roero and Monferrato. The village has long been associated with wine production, particularly Barbera d'Asti, the region's signature grape variety, grown on the surrounding slopes. The local cooperative winery, linked with the neighbouring village of Vaglio Serra, contributes to the area's winemaking reputation. The atmosphere is quiet and rural, typical of Monferrato, with winding roads connecting small hamlets and farms. The surroundings offer classic views over the Piedmontese hills, ideal for walks and for discovering local gastronomy, from full-bodied red wines to regional produce such as cheeses and cured meats.
