Verzuolo

Verzuolo is a municipality in Piedmont, in the Province of Cuneo, located a short distance from Saluzzo and at the entrance to the Varaita Valley, which leads towards the Monviso massif. The area, crossed by the Po river, is characterised by agricultural plains dominated by orchards, particularly fruit crops typical of Piedmont. The town is historically known for its industrial activity linked to paper manufacturing, which shaped the area's economic development from the 19th century onwards. The village centre retains understated Piedmontese architecture, along with a few local religious buildings of interest. Verzuolo serves as a convenient base for exploring the surrounding hills and mountains, particularly towards Monviso, an iconic peak visible from several points in the municipality, and towards the trails and resorts of the Varaita Valley. The nearby town of Saluzzo, with its rich medieval and Renaissance heritage, also offers opportunities for cultural excursions. The climate is continental, with warm summers and cool winters, typical of inland Piedmont.
