Fiano

Fiano is a small locality within the municipality of Massarosa, in the province of Lucca, Tuscany. It lies in a gently hilly area between the Apuan Alps and the coastal plain of Versilia, close to Lake Massaciuccoli, a nature reserve popular for birdwatching and peaceful walks. The Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and mild winters, makes it suitable for year-round stays. Its location provides easy access to the well-known beaches of Versilia, such as Viareggio and Torre del Lago, around twenty minutes away by car, as well as to the historic city of Lucca with its Renaissance-era walls. The surrounding countryside, planted with olive groves and vineyards, is well suited to walking and cycling. Local cuisine features classic Tuscan produce, including olive oil, wine, cured meats, and fish dishes drawing on both the lake and the nearby coast. Fiano therefore offers a quiet base from which to explore the Tyrrhenian coastline and the Tuscan hinterland alike, combining unspoilt nature with cultural heritage.
