Capannori

Capannori is a municipality in Tuscany, in the province of Lucca, made up of numerous small villages rather than a single dense centre, giving it a distinctly rural and green character. The area is known for olive oil production, one of the traditional crops of the Lucca hills, alongside vineyards and olive groves that shape the landscape. Notable sites include the Villa Reale di Marlia, with its historic gardens and open-air theatre, and the Villa Torrigiani in Camigliano, recognised for its Baroque façade and park. The hamlet of Compito, set around the small lake of the same name, offers a pleasant natural setting for walks. Lucca itself lies just a few kilometres away, making it easy to reach the city's historic ramparts, popular for cycling. The Tuscan climate, mild in spring and autumn and warm in summer, suits outdoor activities and exploring the surrounding villages.
