Ardenno

Ardenno is a small town in Valtellina, in the province of Sondrio, Lombardy, nestled between the Rhaetian Alps and the Adda river valley. The village marks the entrance to Val Masino, known for its granite rock faces and access to Val di Mello, a popular spot for climbers and hikers. The surrounding hillsides are covered with terraced vineyards growing the Chiavennasca grape variety, used in Valtellina wines. The valley floor, running alongside the Adda river, connects to the Sentiero Valtellina, a cycling and walking route linking several towns in the region. The climate is alpine-temperate, with mild summers suited to outdoor activities and colder winters that bring visitors closer to the snow-capped mountains nearby.
