Zoagli

Zoagli is a small coastal village in Liguria, on the Riviera di Levante, in the province of Genoa, lying between Chiavari and Rapallo. The village is historically known for its craft tradition of velvet and silk weaving, a skill passed down since the Middle Ages and still practised in a few local workshops. The settlement is centred around a small pebble beach and a modest harbour, with the colourful façades typical of the region. The Genoa-La Spezia railway line runs through Zoagli, with a station set directly by the sea, making it easy to reach nearby towns such as Rapallo and Chiavari, and further afield, Portofino and the Cinque Terre. A coastal footpath links Zoagli on foot to the surrounding villages, offering views over the Ligurian Sea. Local cuisine reflects regional specialities, with focaccia, pesto and fresh seafood featuring on restaurant menus throughout the village. The mild Mediterranean climate, pleasant year-round, together with the setting between sea and hills, makes Zoagli a peaceful base for exploring the Riviera di Levante away from the busier tourist resorts.
