Torre Paponi

Torre Paponi is a hamlet within the municipality of Cipressa, in the province of Imperia, Liguria, along the Riviera dei Fiori (Riviera of Flowers). This stretch of the Ligurian coast, situated between Sanremo and Imperia, is characterised by terraced hillsides planted with olive groves and, closer to the shore, flower cultivation that gave this part of the coastline its name. The mild, year-round Mediterranean climate supports seaside tourism alongside hiking opportunities in the hinterland, where traditional stone-built villages remain. Local gastronomy centres on extra virgin olive oil produced in the region, along with classic Ligurian specialities such as pesto, focaccia and seafood dishes. Nearby Sanremo provides access to larger amenities, including a casino, a lively seafront and Italy's well-known song festival. The proximity to the French border and the Côte d'Azur also makes day trips straightforward. The area itself remains largely quiet and residential, better suited to a relaxed stay than to a lively nightlife scene.
