Spotorno

Spotorno is a small seaside resort on the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente, in the province of Savona, known for its wide sandy beach, which is relatively unusual along this largely rocky stretch of coastline. The village retains a historic centre with narrow lanes, colourful houses and a seafront promenade lined with shops, ice-cream parlours and restaurants serving fish dishes and Ligurian specialities such as pesto and focaccia. The town enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, well suited to visits from spring through to autumn. Just offshore lies Bergeggi Island, visible from the coast, while nearby coastal paths connect Spotorno to the neighbouring towns of Noli and Bergeggi, both known for their cliffs and secluded coves. The larger town of Savona, with its port facilities, lies around twenty kilometres away. Spotorno therefore makes a convenient base for exploring the Ligurian Riviera, combining beaches, coastal walking trails and characterful villages, all within a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere that is generally quieter than some of the region's better-known resorts.
