Pontedassio

Pontedassio is a small municipality in the province of Imperia, Liguria, nestled in the Impero valley just a few kilometres from the Mediterranean coast and the town of Imperia. The village is traditionally linked to the Agnesi family, well-known Italian pasta manufacturers, whose industrial legacy shaped local history and led to the creation of a museum dedicated to the history of pasta-making. The surrounding landscape is typical of the Ligurian hinterland, with hillsides covered in olive groves, particularly the taggiasca variety used for local olive oil production, alongside some terraced market gardens. The mild Mediterranean climate, pleasant throughout the year, encourages walks through the neighbouring hamlets and along the valley. Its proximity to the Riviera dei Fiori makes it easy to reach seaside resorts such as San Remo or Imperia, with their beaches, markets and Ligurian cuisine.
