Pietra Ligure

Pietra Ligure is a seaside town on the Riviera di Ponente, in the province of Savona, Liguria. It combines a fine sandy beach with a historic centre of narrow lanes typical of Ligurian villages, where small shops, colourful houses and shaded squares sit close together. The seafront promenade allows for pleasant walks or cycling along the coast, particularly via the cycle path built on a former railway line that links several coastal towns, including Loano and Borgio Verezzi. The Mediterranean climate, mild for much of the year, supports outdoor activities and a fairly long tourist season from spring through autumn. Local cuisine follows Ligurian traditions, with pesto, focaccia and seafood dishes commonly featured on restaurant menus in the town centre. Pietra Ligure also makes a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area, including Finale Ligure, well known for climbing and mountain biking, and the Toirano caves a little further inland. The town additionally hosts notable healthcare facilities for the region, making it an active local hub beyond the summer season alone.
