Lingueglietta

Lingueglietta is a small medieval hamlet within the municipality of Cipressa, in the province of Imperia, Liguria. Perched on a hillside in the hinterland, just a few kilometres from the Riviera dei Fiori and the sea, it retains a distinctly medieval character with narrow lanes, closely packed stone houses and vaulted passageways. The atmosphere is quiet and authentic, well away from the bustle of the coast. The surrounding countryside is covered with olive groves typical of this part of Liguria, where olive oil production remains an important traditional activity. The mild Mediterranean climate makes the area pleasant to visit for much of the year, with warm, dry summers and temperate winters. The village is well suited to walking, with trails linking it to neighbouring hinterland villages such as Cipressa and Santo Stefano al Mare. Its proximity to the coast allows visitors to combine a peaceful stay in the village with easy access to beaches and nearby towns such as San Remo and Imperia.
