Castellaro

Castellaro is a small medieval village perched on the hillsides of the province of Imperia, in Liguria, within the hinterland of the Riviera dei Fiori. Its historic centre, with narrow lanes and stone houses, overlooks terraced hills planted with olive groves, typical of this region renowned for producing high-quality olive oil, particularly from the taggiasca variety. The village is also known for its golf course, Golf degli Ulivi, laid out amid the olive trees with open views over the Mediterranean Sea. Castellaro lies just a few kilometres from the coast, close to towns such as San Lorenzo al Mare and Santo Stefano al Mare, where visitors can join the cycling and walking path built along the former coastal railway line, popular for strolls or bike rides facing the sea. The mild Mediterranean climate throughout the year encourages outdoor activities, hiking in the surrounding hills, and sampling local produce.
