Camporosso

Camporosso is a municipality in Liguria, in the province of Imperia, situated right by the French-Italian border and close to Ventimiglia. It is divided into two parts: Camporosso Mare along the coast, and Camporosso in Riva, the older settlement set on the surrounding hills. The area forms part of the Riviera dei Fiori, a region known for its flower and horticultural cultivation, which shapes the landscape between sea and mountains. The seafront, with its sand and pebble beach, draws holidaymakers during the summer months thanks to a mild Mediterranean climate year-round. The nearby town of Ventimiglia offers a well-known weekly market and shops, while Menton, just across the French border, can be reached within minutes. The surrounding countryside is well suited to hiking in the Ligurian hinterland, along with visits to the region's typical hilltop villages. Local cuisine highlights seafood, olive oil, and Ligurian specialities such as pesto and focaccia. Camporosso therefore serves as a convenient base for exploring both the Italian Riviera and the neighbouring French Riviera.
