Borgomaro

Borgomaro is a small village in the Ligurian hinterland, located in the province of Imperia, at the heart of the Impero Valley. This hilly area, known for its terraced olive groves, produces a well-regarded olive oil, particularly from Taggiasca olives, a variety emblematic of the region. The village retains a distinctly medieval character, with narrow lanes, stone houses and a parish church. Surrounding hamlets, such as Ripalta, add to the rural charm of the municipality with their old buildings and unspoilt natural surroundings. The mild Mediterranean climate, pleasant throughout the year, supports both local agriculture and outdoor activities, such as hiking across the nearby hills or exploring the paths connecting the villages of the hinterland.
