Albisola

Albisola, on the Riviera di Ponente in Liguria, is split between Albisola Marina and Albissola Superiore, a few kilometres from Savona. The town has long been known for its centuries-old tradition of artisan ceramics, which drew twentieth-century artists such as Lucio Fontana and helped establish it as a recognised centre for contemporary ceramic art. The seafront promenade, known as the Passeggiata degli Artisti, features ceramic pavements and decorations created by various artists and remains a popular walk along the sandy beach. The town is also home to Villa Faraggiana, an eighteenth-century historic residence open to visitors. Albisola offers a wide beach suitable for families, along with several well-equipped beach clubs. Local cuisine highlights Ligurian specialities such as farinata and pesto. The mild Mediterranean climate, pleasant throughout the year, supports outdoor activities and seaside strolls. Its proximity to Savona and other coastal towns makes it a convenient base for exploring the wider region.
