Valsolda

Valsolda is a municipality in the province of Como, Lombardy, nestled on the eastern shore of Lake Lugano, right by the Swiss border. The area comprises several picturesque hamlets, including San Mamete, known for its small harbour and typical lanes leading down to the water, as well as Albogasio, Oria and Castello, which retain traditional lakeside architecture with colourful houses and narrow alleyways. Its setting between lake and mountains encourages outdoor pursuits, from hiking on trails leading up into the surrounding hills to swimming and water sports on the lake, plus lakeside walks offering views across the Ceresio towards Switzerland.
