Uza

Uza is a small village in the Landes department, in south-western France, located in the Marensin area, just a few kilometres from the Atlantic coast and not far from the seaside towns of Léon and Vielle-Saint-Girons. The village lies within the Landes forest, a vast expanse of maritime pines that shapes the surrounding landscape and offers numerous trails for walking and cycling. Uza is particularly known for its lake, a peaceful spot popular for fishing and quiet strolls, surrounded by the wetland vegetation typical of the region. The area enjoys a mild oceanic climate, ideal for spring and summer breaks, with fairly easy access to Atlantic beaches and their well-known surf spots. Forestry and local farming remain part of the area's rural character, set within an unspoilt countryside setting. From Uza, it's easy to explore the wider Landes lakes, local markets and neighbouring villages, making it a quiet base from which to discover the natural heritage of the Landes—forest, lakes and ocean—away from the bustle of larger coastal resorts.
