Lago di Edine

Lago di Edine (Lago di Endine) is a small natural lake located in the Val Cavallina, in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy. Less well-known than larger neighbouring lakes such as Lake Iseo, it appeals thanks to its peaceful setting, surrounded by wooded hills and traditional villages including Endine Gaiano, Ranzanico, Monasterolo del Castello and Spinone al Lago. Part of the lake is protected as a wetland reserve, providing a habitat for various bird species and attracting birdwatching enthusiasts. A path circles the lake, suitable for walking or cycling, offering views over the shoreline and surrounding hills. Fishing is popular here, particularly for trout and pike. The local area offers simple, authentic cuisine, with specialities such as polenta, casoncelli pasta and mountain cheeses like formai de mut.
