St Siffret

Saint-Siffret is a small village in the Gard department, just a few kilometres from Uzès, whose ducal town and arcaded streets remain a key cultural and tourist reference in the region. Set within a landscape of garrigue scrubland and vineyards typical of the Duché d'Uzès, the village retains an authentic Provençal character, with narrow lanes, limestone houses and its parish church. The rural surroundings provide a peaceful setting, ideal for walking or cycling among olive groves and vineyards producing locally appreciated IGP wines. Thanks to its location, Saint-Siffret makes a convenient base for exploring the Gard's major sites, including the Pont du Gard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the Gardon Gorges, popular for swimming and canoeing during the summer months. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, allows for outdoor activities throughout much of the year. The well-known market at Uzès further adds to the cultural and gastronomic offering close to the village.
