Salles d'Aude

Salles-d'Aude is a village in the Aude department, in the Occitanie region of southern France, located a few kilometres north-east of Narbonne, between the River Aude and the Mediterranean coastline. The village sits within a typical Languedoc landscape, with vineyards covering a large part of the surrounding countryside and reflecting the area's long-standing winemaking tradition. Its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, a short drive from Narbonne-Plage or Vendres, makes it easy to combine a quiet stay with convenient access to the beaches of the Gulf of Lion. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, encourages outdoor activities for much of the year, including walking, cycling along vineyard tracks, or birdwatching around the nearby coastal lagoons. Nearby Narbonne provides shops, local markets and a richer historical heritage, making Salles-d'Aude a peaceful base from which to explore the Aude region, set between vineyard terroir, coastal lagoons and the Mediterranean shoreline.
