St-Père-Marc-en-Poulet

Saint-Père-Marc-en-Poulet is a rural parish in Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, formed from the merger of two former villages. It lies in the Pays de Poulet area, close to the Marais de Dol wetlands and the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, amid the typical bocage countryside of this part of Brittany. Its location makes it a convenient base for exploring several major regional sites: the walled city of Saint-Malo is around fifteen kilometres away, Dol-de-Bretagne with its cathedral about ten kilometres, and Mont-Saint-Michel roughly half an hour by car. The local economy remains largely agricultural, with livestock farming and market gardening shaped by the fertile marshland soils. The temperate maritime climate, with mild summers and gentle winters, suits outdoor pursuits such as walking along country lanes or cycling through the surrounding farmland.
