Prayssas

Prayssas is a village in the Lot-et-Garonne department, located in the Pays de Serres area, just a few kilometres from Aiguillon and not far from Agen. Founded in the 13th century, this former bastide town retains a historic centre with stone houses, narrow lanes and a market hall typical of the region. The surrounding landscape of gentle hills, orchards and vineyards is characteristic of the Pays de Serres and lends itself well to walking or cycling. Its proximity to the Lot valley makes it easy to reach better-known sites such as Agen, known for its prunes, or neighbouring bastide towns. The mild south-western climate favours outdoor activities for much of the year. The region is also known for its local produce, including Agen prunes, foie gras and wines from the Lot valley. Prayssas therefore offers an authentic, peaceful and green rural setting, well suited to countryside stays, while remaining close to the main transport routes of Lot-et-Garonne and away from urban bustle.
