Plougrescant

Plougrescant is a small village in the Trégor area, on the northern coast of Côtes-d'Armor, near Tréguier. It is best known for the House Between the Rocks at Castel Meur, a dwelling wedged between two granite boulders facing the sea, one of Brittany's most photographed sites. The village also has the Saint-Gonéry chapel, notable for its slate-covered leaning spire and painted ceiling. The coastal footpath (GR34) runs along the shoreline to the Pointe du Château, offering views over pink granite rocks and nearby islands. The surrounding landscape is wild and coastal, with coves and traditional Breton dwellings scattered among heathland and market gardens typical of the Trégor region. Fishing and vegetable growing remain local activities alongside coastal tourism. The village makes a good base for exploring the Pink Granite Coast and the area around Tréguier, offering a quiet setting suited to coastal walking and discovering the region's religious and natural heritage.
