Plouezoc'h

Plouezoc'h is a village in Finistère, Brittany, located on the shores of the Bay of Morlaix, facing the Île Callot and the town of Carantec. It is best known for the Barnenez cairn, an impressive megalithic monument dating back around 4500 BC, regarded as one of the largest prehistoric funerary structures in Europe. Open to visitors, the site overlooks the bay and offers striking views across the estuary and surrounding islands. The village retains a rural, maritime character, with an indented coastline well suited to shellfish gathering, birdwatching and coastal walks, including sections of the GR34 coastal path. Nearby Morlaix, just a few kilometres away, provides easy access to shops, markets and the railway station. The wider area enjoys a mild oceanic climate, notable tidal ranges and the typical hedgerow-lined countryside of rural Brittany.
