Ploéren

Ploéren is a village in the Morbihan department of Brittany, located a few kilometres north-west of Vannes, right on the edge of the Gulf of Morbihan. Its position makes it a convenient base for exploring this coastal region, well known for its maritime landscapes, islands and traditional villages. Vannes, with its walled old town and harbour, is easily reached, as are well-known spots within the Gulf such as the port area or boat crossings to Île aux Moines. The area enjoys a mild oceanic climate typical of the Breton coastline, ideal for outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling or simply taking in the local heritage. The surrounding countryside also offers coastal footpaths to wander along, together with easy access to local markets and Breton specialities, from crêpes and galettes to fresh seafood.
