Rincón de la Victoria

Rincón de la Victoria is a coastal town in the province of Málaga, on the Costa del Sol, around ten kilometres east of the Andalusian capital. It is known for the Cueva del Tesoro, a cave of marine origin open to the public, a geological rarity in Europe. The coastline features several sandy beaches, including a bioclimatic beach designed to provide natural shade and greater comfort during summer. Old watchtowers, remnants of the area's historic coastal defences, still dot the shoreline. The town retains the feel of a former fishing village, with beachside chiringuitos serving local specialities such as espetos, sardines grilled over open coals. The mild Mediterranean climate, pleasant throughout the year, encourages outdoor activities such as strolling along the seafront promenade, swimming, diving and watersports. Being close to Málaga, Rincón de la Victoria appeals both to families seeking a quieter base and to those interested in natural attractions, while remaining less crowded than some of the more touristy resorts along the Costa del Sol.
