Macinaggio

Macinaggio is a village on Cap Corse, located on the eastern coast of this northern peninsula of Corsica, in the Haute-Corse department. Its marina, one of the busiest on the island, forms the heart of local life and welcomes both sailors and fishermen throughout the year. The village is often used as a starting point for exploring the customs officers' path, which follows the rugged coastline to the Capandula nature reserve and Barcaggio beach, known for its clear waters and unspoilt surroundings. Hiking enthusiasts can also head to the Genoese tower of Santa Maria or continue on to the hilltop village of Rogliano, noted for its historic remains and sweeping sea views. The area enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers ideal for swimming, diving and boat trips along the coves of Cap Corse. Macinaggio remains a popular destination for its genuine natural setting, between sea and mountains, away from the busier tourist resorts found elsewhere on the island.
