Lozari

Lozari is a small coastal hamlet in north-western Corsica, part of the commune of Belgodère, in the Balagne region between Calvi and Île-Rousse. The area is best known for its long stretch of fine sandy beach, bordered by maquis scrubland and facing the Mediterranean Sea. Nearby, the mouth of the Reginu river adds to the unspoilt natural setting, popular for swimming and coastal walks. Lozari is often used as a base for exploring the hilltop villages of the Balagne, such as Belgodère, Speloncato and Sant'Antonino, known for their traditional architecture and sweeping views over the coastline. The region enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers well suited to water sports including sailing, diving and kayaking. The surrounding countryside also offers hiking trails through the Corsican maquis, along with local markets selling the island's characteristic cured meats and cheeses. Lozari remains a quiet destination, ideal for a seaside stay set within an authentic and well-preserved natural landscape.
