Oropesa del Mar

Oropesa del Mar is a coastal town in the province of Castellón, on Spain's Costa del Azahar, within the Valencian Community. Its old quarter sits on a hillside, where the remains of a medieval castle and the Colomera watchtower, once used to spot approaching ships, still stand. The coastline features several sandy beaches, such as La Concha and Morro de Gos, known for their calm waters and easy access. The town is also home to Marina d'Or, a large tourist resort with hotels, spas and a water park that draws many families during the summer months. The surrounding countryside retains orange groves typical of the region, which gives the coast its name — Azahar meaning orange blossom. A well-kept seafront promenade is ideal for walking or cycling, while the nearby harbour and coves are popular for diving and other watersports. With a mild Mediterranean climate for much of the year, Oropesa del Mar attracts visitors throughout spring and summer alike.
