Le Luc

Le Luc is a town in the Centre Var area of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, roughly halfway between Draguignan and Toulon, close to the A8 motorway. The village enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers well suited to outdoor pursuits. The town is home to the Musée des Blindés, one of Europe's most significant military museums dedicated to armoured vehicles, linked to the military base located within the commune. Le Luc also lies at the heart of the Var vineyards, within the Côtes de Provence appellation, making it a popular stop for wine tourism. The old town retains a distinctly Provençal character, with narrow streets and a plane-tree-lined square hosting a traditional market. The surrounding countryside offers an unspoilt rural setting of hills, vineyards and scrubland, ideal for walking and cycling. Thanks to its central position within the department, Le Luc makes a convenient base for exploring the wider region, from the Mediterranean coast to the Verdon Gorge and the hilltop villages of the Var backcountry.
