Lampaul-Ploudalmézeau

Lampaul-Ploudalmézeau is a commune in Finistère, Brittany, encompassing the harbour of Portsall on the Pays d'Iroise coastline. This stretch of coast, bordering the Iroise Sea, is known for its sandy beaches, dunes and rocky coves well suited to shellfish gathering. Portsall harbour is home to a large anchor, a memorial to the 1978 wreck of the oil tanker Amoco Cadiz, which has become a local landmark. The coastal footpath (GR34) runs along the shore, offering walks with views over nearby islets and lighthouses, set within the wider landscape of the Pays d'Iroise, close to the Iroise Marine Nature Park and the islands of Ouessant and Molène, reachable from neighbouring harbours.
