Lacanau-Lac

Lacanau-Lac refers to the section of Lacanau bordering the Lacanau lake, a freshwater body separated from the Atlantic Ocean by a wooded dune ridge, just a few kilometres from Lacanau-Océan. This lake, one of the largest along the Aquitaine coastline, offers calm waters ideal for sailing, paddleboarding, waterskiing and family swimming, providing a contrast to the more challenging waves on the ocean side. The shores are lined with maritime pines typical of the Landes forest region, creating a natural setting well suited to walking and cycling, with dedicated cycle paths connecting the lake to the ocean.
