La Môle

La Môle is a small village in the Var department, nestled in the heart of the Maures mountain range, just a few kilometres from the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Surrounded by cork oak and chestnut forests, it offers an unspoilt natural setting, ideal for hiking and walking through the wooded hills typical of this Mediterranean region. The village retains the remains of an old castle, a reminder of its medieval past, and is home to a small airfield known as La Môle/Saint-Tropez, used mainly during the summer season. Its proximity to the Corniche des Maures and the beaches of Cavalaire-sur-Mer or Grimaud makes it easy to reach the coast, while enjoying a quieter, more rural setting than the nearby seaside resorts. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers, encourages outdoor activities for much of the year. La Môle therefore makes a peaceful base from which to explore both the Var hinterland and the well-known sights of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, while staying away from the summer tourist bustle.
