Sa Riera

Sa Riera is a small cove on the Costa Brava coastline, part of the municipality of Begur in Girona province, Catalonia. Tucked between the rocky headlands typical of this stretch of coast, it features a fine sandy beach bordered by clear waters, popular for swimming and snorkelling. The village retains a quiet, low-key atmosphere, with a handful of restaurants and bars serving Catalan cuisine and fresh seafood. Sa Riera serves as a convenient starting point for walks along the Camí de Ronda, the coastal path linking neighbouring coves such as Sa Tuna, Aiguafreda and Fornells, all just a few kilometres away. The town of Begur itself, with its medieval castle and charming narrow streets, lies around a ten-minute drive inland. The Mediterranean climate brings warm, dry summers ideal for water sports like kayaking and diving, while spring and autumn are well suited to walking and exploring the surrounding countryside. The area remains less developed than other parts of the Costa Brava, preserving a still-wild, natural setting.
