San Juan / Muchamiel

San Juan and Muchamiel lie in the province of Alicante, on the Costa Blanca, just a few kilometres from Alicante's city centre and airport. The area is best known for Playa de San Juan, one of the longest and busiest urban beaches on Spain's Mediterranean coast, lined with a broad promenade, restaurants and seafront bars. Muchamiel, set further inland, retains a traditional agricultural character, with its irrigated market gardens and a locally grown tomato variety valued for its quality. The mild Mediterranean climate, warm in summer and gentle in winter, supports an active beach-holiday season for much of the year.
