Grambois

Grambois is a hilltop village in the Vaucluse department, within the Luberon Regional Nature Park, lying between Pertuis and Manosque. Built on a small rise, it retains a medieval character with narrow lanes, stone houses and remnants of its old fortified walls. The Notre-Dame-de-Beauvoir church, along with a few historic fountains and wash houses, reflect its rural past. The village served as a filming location for parts of Le Hussard sur le toit, shot in the 1990s across several Luberon towns. The local economy remains tied to Mediterranean agriculture, with olive groves, vineyards and lavender fields surrounding the village, characteristic of the wider Provençal landscape. The climate is typically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, well suited to outdoor pursuits. The surrounding countryside offers walking trails through the Luberon hills, along with nearby villages such as Ansouis and La Tour-d'Aigues, and traditional Provençal markets. Grambois appeals through its unspoilt charm and quiet setting, offering a more authentic alternative to the busier, better-known villages of the region.
